Ten full tuitions, every year, forever
What started as a reunion-table joke — “imagine if our whole class paid one student’s fees” — is now the largest alumni-funded award in Brotherhood history. The class of 2015 has endowed a fund that pays full tuition, books and housing for ten Northgate students every single year, in perpetuity.
The fund crossed its target at the homecoming dinner, when three anonymous classmates matched every pledge made that night. By midnight the total stood high enough to endow, not just to spend — meaning the scholarships will outlive every donor.
How the awards work
Any enrolled student facing genuine financial hardship can apply through the university bursary in spring. A joint panel of class representatives and faculty weighs need first and grades second. Two of the ten places are reserved for first-generation university students.

The first scholars arrive this autumn
Selection for the inaugural cohort closes in May, and the first ten names will be read aloud at the spring picnic — a new Brotherhood tradition starting this year. The class of 2015 will be there, front row, applauding louder than anyone.
How you can help
You don’t need a class fund to change a semester. Term-time top-ups keep the emergency grant pot full for students facing sudden hardship — a bus pass here, a laptop repair there. Every contribution is read out, with thanks, at the get-together dinner.
