Any graduate, former student or retired teacher of Northgate University. Membership is free for the first year; afterwards a small annual contribution keeps the scholarship and community funds alive. Partners are welcome at every event.

Enrolled students apply through the university bursary each spring. A joint panel of class representatives and faculty weighs financial need first and grades second. Emergency grants run all year — ask the contact desk and expect an answer within a week.

New students are matched with a senior mentor within two weeks of enrolment. Pairs meet monthly — coffee, a walk or a video call — with guided topics for the first three meetings. Alumni outside the city mentor remotely.

Yes — partners and children are welcome at the get-together dinner, the spring picnic and homecoming. Mentoring evenings are for students and mentors only, so conversations stay candid.

Write to the contact desk with the role, location, type and closing date. Alumni employers post free; listings stay live for sixty days. Every posting is reviewed before it appears, so members only see genuine openings.

Absolutely. Forty city chapters run their own meet-ups, mentoring happens over video call, and the newsletter carries reunion dates months ahead. Distance has never stopped an Oak — our farthest chapter meets 8,000 miles from the great lawn.

Straight to the funds: scholarships first, then emergency grants, the clinic’s hall rent and reunion costs. The accounts are read aloud at the annual get-together and any member may inspect them.
