Run the halls that never sleep
Halcyon Systems operates the region’s busiest colocation halls by the harbour. They need a senior specialist who stays calm when the alarms sing — someone who has carried a pager, led a night shift and can explain an outage to a customer without jargon. The hiring manager is a Northgate graduate from the class of 2009.
What you’ll do
- Own uptime across two data halls and 400 racks
- Lead capacity planning with the network team
- Run incident response and blameless post-mortems
- Mentor three junior technicians on rotation
What you’ll bring
- Six or more years in data-centre operations
- Hands-on cooling, power and structured cabling
- Calm, written communication under pressure
- Willingness to carry the on-call rota one week in four
